The jazz ensemble consists of students
who play saxophone, trumpet, trombone/baritone, tuba, drum set,
keyboard, electric guitar, and electric bass. Jazz band is an extra curricular ensemble that meets
after school from 3:45-5:00 twice a week beginning in November.
CATA's jazz band performs 3-4 times a year and is a fan
favorite with CATA students! Information about jazz auditions will be posted on the website in October.
Students DO NOT need to be enrolled in Symphonic Band or Marching Band in order to participate in jazz band at CATA.

Central Academy of Technology and Arts is home to over 800 high school students in Union County, North Carolina who have have chosen to focus their studies in one of six academies. The CATA band program is proud to offer students a traditional band experience within the academy setting complete with concert, marching and jazz ensembles that perform on a regular basis.
