MPA Success!

Our symphonic band students had a SUPERIOR experience at MPA from start to finish today.  They handled themselves with maturity and professionalism from the moment we left campus and played beautifully both on stage and in the sight reading room.

We earned SUPERIOR marks from all four judges who assessed our performance today.  Each judge completed a report card evaluating seven different aspects of our performance technique, musicality, musical literacy, and poise and appearance, then assigned us a cumulative score.  Our musicians earned 25 A's and 3 B's.  It was truly a remarkable performance and Ms. Craven could not be more proud!

Here are links to recordings that were captured today during our stage performance:

Courage March - Harold Bennett/arr. Larry Clark
Black Is The Color - Robert Sheldon
The Eagle's Triumph - David Shaffer

We had a lot of support along our MPA journey this year and we thank the army of supporters who helped make our MPA experience such a success this year.

Thank you to the band parents who provided transportation to and from rehearsals, snacks and pot-luck dishes during MPA retreat weekend, and those parents who served as chaperones and equipment caddies during the trip to MPA.

Special thanks to the band directors who volunteered their time to coach us and serve as mock judges during our MPA retreat.

As always, we thank our supportive administrative staff and our financial supporters in the community for providing the resources required to perform at such a high level.

Last, but certainly not least, we thank our students for their dedication to preparing for MPA and pushing themselves to achieve new heights of musical excellence through performance.
